Life Lately

Life lately has been beyond crazy.  I have been super busy these past few weeks.  I have been gone every weekend but one (and that one landed me on crutches) and work has been going 90 mph.  It's all been fun and I wouldn't have missed any of it, but I'm a little excited to just be still for a day or two!!

Let me take you back to Father's Day weekend! I know everyone says this about their Dad, but it's true about mine...I have the best Dad ever!  He is the most amazing leader for our family and has the biggest heart when comes to us.  He would give and do anything anyone needs!  He is the kind of man who will not only be on board, but actually suggest that his in-laws move in with him!!  I promise I'm not biased...I'm just Daddy's little girl :)

Andrew and Jessica made it to lunch Sunday! They even brought the horses and puppies!

The next weekend, I got to actually stay in Waco for the weekend.  My friends Chelsea and Amber and myself planned a day out at BSR Cable Park for some wakeboarding!  This is my new found love!!

I did however, take an ugly fall when attempting to make my first turn.  Over compensated on the rope and my foot was pulled out of my boot and landed me on some crutches :( But don't worry, before I realized just how bad it was I got back on my board and made that turn multiple times before deciding I should probably get off my foot.

When I got home, I called my good friend Dana, who happens to be an EMT and she said I should probably get it looked at.  Fortunately, the X-rays didn't show a break, just an ugly sprain with a knot that stuck out farther than my ankle bone...ew (not exactly the phone call you want to make to you Mom who is busy getting ready for your brother's wedding in 2 weeks...oops)

Life lately is flying by so fast....But I'm enjoying every minute of it!!

Whirl-Wind Weekend of Fun!

This was a busy weekend for me to say the least, but I had a blast catching up with so many wonderful people!!

Friday after work, I booked it over to Austin to surprise one of my oldest and dearest friends, Ashley, on her 25th birthday.  Ainsley put together one of the greatest surprise parties I've been to, Ashley really had no idea!!

I was so excited to see Tana, Randy and Michelle again (it has been far far too long) and I finally got to meet Ainsley, her fiance Ty, and Jared!

We danced the night away and caught up on old times!

So happy that through all these years I still have these wonderful ladies as friends!! Happy Birthday Ashley!!!!

I woke up bright and early on Saturday to travel westward for two wedding showers for my brother and Jessica! The first shower I got to catch up with some family and family friends and checked out the loot of goodies Jessica got to open!!

The second shower was put together by a few of the Coaches and Coaches wives from back in the day.  Let me tell you, this group is always a riot.  I loved listening to stories from all the trips to games and on some of the stories I'm not sure how we actually made it to the games!!  You won't find another group like this in a million years!  Each one of these people have impacted mine and so many other Sweetwater lives in the best ways!!

Sunday, I made the trek back to Waco and lets just say when I went to bed I slept like a baby!!  Truly a great weekend with the greatest people!!

Just Because...

I obviously don't brag about how amazing my family is enough...but really they are! I'm so beyond blessed to have such a wonderful family.  I love that we are so close knit, it's nice always knowing that they are there when I need them!!

Today, in particular, I'm super proud of my three younger cousins, Austin (Munchkin), Alli, and Tyler, if for no other reason, than that they are truly amazing people!!

When Austin was first born I started calling him Munchkin...I honestly couldn't tell you why (maybe because I'm small and he was smaller than me..who knows)!  But now, as he ends his Junior year of high school he is definitely not a "munchkin".  I know everyone says it all the time, but I truly am so, so, very proud of the young man he has become! He is a good big brother for Tyler to look up to and one that will always be there to protect his little sister (even if he picks on her ALL the time, he is the only one allowed to do that)!! Here he is at prom with his girlfriend Holly....How handsome is he!!!

Allison is ending in her first year in middle school...to me that just seems unreal!  There are so many qualities that I admire in her.  She has a beautiful soul that shines from the inside out.  She is so creative and has such a wild imagination that only fuels her creativity! I'm constantly amazed at what all she can do.  She is also blessed with great musical talent, here she is at her latest piano concert!

Tyler, there aren't enough words to describe the ole T-Bone.  The once self-proclaimed "Burper King" has become one of the sweetest, most genuine people you will ever meet!  He has a crazy, fun side and can always bring out the 'kid' in anyone.  When we get together for family functions the phrase "Gotta love that T-Bone" is said constantly, because he honestly has the funniest things to say about anything and everything.  He is also one of the most athletic ones of our family, I am in awe of his skills on the basketball court and especially on the baseball field!

Now that I live in Waco, I'm further away from them and I miss getting to attend all of their activities.  But if you couldn't tell, I'm just so proud of the awesome people they are becoming! Love you all so much!!

Told you I don't brag on my family enough......  :)

Memorial Day Weekend

This Memorial Day weekend I got to spend with one of my favorite families, The Ivy's!!

Growing up this was my second family, I spent countless hours at their house, many family vacations, and several amazing concerts (Elton John for example)!!  The Ivy's have a lake house on Lake LBJ and we spent the weekend flying a kite, a little Frisbee (until I got it stuck on the roof), on a Pontoon and jet ski's, oh, and I jumped off a bridge :)

Dacy, Delaney, and I went to the Dollar Store and loaded up on some fun things to do while we were on vacation.  And I must say, the $2 kite was an awesome investment.  I forgot how much fun that is and everyone joined in on the action!

Dacy gets the credit for this awesome picture!

 Delaney's turn!!

Dacy showing little Korbin how to fly the kite.

 She's pretty much a pro!!

Coach Ivy even got in the action....go ahead...ask him who got it stuck in the tree!!

Dacy breaking and entering to retrieve our fly-away kite!

The next morning Dacy, Delaney and I went on a little walk to the other side of the lake and we found some neat stuff along the way.

I love being out and about in nature, and it's always fun when it shows a little love back :)

Somebody got them a new pet!

Sisters!!!

Their cousin, Jeana, then took us out on the Pontoon (yes, I'm singing Little Big Town in my head as I type this) and Dacy and I (along with Dacy's younger cousins) jumped off of a bridge!!!!

That's my arm on the far right (Delaney didn't know we were jumping at the same time, but I promise it's me)!!!!

"Friends are the family you choose!"

After we got back, Dacy taught me how the drive the jet ski....although I'm not convinced she knew exactly what she was doing either!!

And of course we had a little a Frisbee action (although the wind was crazy)!!
And I ultimately got the Frisbee stuck on the roof....oops!

We even had yummy s'mores!! There is just something about being out at the lake that makes them taste better then any where else!!

(Can anyone spot Delaney?!?!)

I just love being out on the lake, we have several great memories growing up there and it is fun to go back and make more!!

Everyone loaded up on Monday to head back to the real world! It was great little escape to recharge everything!!

Big thanks again to the Ivys!! I had such a good time and love getting to catch up!! Love you all!!

Fiesta!

Well sadly, birthday week is officially over.  It was a lot of fun, filled with friends and family, and good eating!!

There are several ladies who share birthday week with me at my office so on Wednesday (my real birthday) we had a potluck lunch at the office...lets just say I work at an office full of people who can cook!!  I made a sloppy peanut butter pie for the first time and it was amazing!!

We are also very festive at HDSM, so there were streamers galore around my desk on the 8th! It's a lot of fun!

Through out the day, I was pleasantly surprised by my parents and little cousins with the most beautiful flower arrangements!  I love love love flowers, they always brighten up a room and office!!

Dana and I went out to eat on Wednesday at fun little pizza place here in Waco.  I've never been and it was delicious!!  Afterwords, we watched the latest chick flick, Safe Haven.  She got me the cutest little wine topper (perfect for me :) )

I was able to take off of work on Friday and head to Sweetwater for more celebrations with my family!  Mom made my favorite chocolate cake that I have every year and my favorite spaghetti for dinner!! Can you say still spoiled at 25 years old :)  One of my favorite birthday gifts is my new headphones.  They are the Frends Headphones and they are cute and girly, and best of all they do NOT hurt my ears!!

They also surprised me with two awesome reads!!

My family loves the Duck Dynasty crew and these books only reinforce my feelings for them.  I actually vegged out and finished both books this weekend, I couldn't put them down.  (It helps that we got some rain in Sweetwater so the lake had water and I just got sit out, soak up some sun, relax and enjoy the books!!)

So needless to say this was an amazing birthday week!! I'm so blessed to have such wonderful family and friends!!  Thank you all for your sweet comments and wishes!! Love you all and here is to another good year!!
